How to wallpaper a straight wall. Use a spirit level or plumb bob to mark a vertical line. The wallpaper is set along the plumb line and moved a few centimetres over the ceiling or gable area. Pull the paper off the wall enough to cut and then brush it back into place.
Smooth the entire strip working from the center outward forcing out any air pockets. Align the edge of the wallpaper to the vertical line so the wallpaper overlaps into the corner matching any pattern at eye level as best you can. Corners are not always straight so this can make wallpapering a lot trickier.
Make sure that the lower part of the wallpaper strip doesnt touch the wall. Slide the wallpaper into position lining up with the plumb line. Use a full roll of paper as a guide to lay out the room.
Before you move on to the next drop remove any adhesive from the face of the wallcovering with a damp sponge. Tape measure and a pencil. Butt a roll into the corner where you plan to start and make a pencil mark on the wall at the edge of the roll.
Wallpaper corner profile is a new solution to edge wallpaper in corners. Also wipe adhesive off the ceiling baseboard and other trim. Even if you measure the height of the wall exactly ceilings arent exactly straight.
Brush the paper tightly into the corner and you should have about 25mm overlap on the adjoining wall. Wait until the weight stops swaying then with a pencil mark your straight line. Apply wallpaper paste directly to your wall with a paint roller or wide brush.
